Sylvan Pontoon Boats: State-of-the-Art Boating for Everyone
The Sylvan Marine company, makers of Sylvan pontoon boats, place a special focus on
making pontoons that balance luxury, quality, and performance, while also being roomy, high-tech, and safe.
They’re also beautifully designed with a loving touch for detail, shape, and color. Riding in a Sylvan
pontoon, you’ll be one of the more attractive boats on the water, and you’ll also be able to enjoy a variety
of highly customizable features that some of the other companies simply haven’t thought of yet.
Since making their first boats in 1961, Sylvan has gradually expanded its offering to
include several pontoon series in addition to their fishing boats. The 5 Sylvan pontoon series
are:
- The Mandalay Series: These top-of-the-line models have all the luxury features
while bringing all of Sylvan’s design expertise to bear. They have the highest horsepower, the greatest
mobility, the most room, and the most state-of-the-art design, including Sylvan’s specially designed RPT
(Revolutionary Planing Technology) tubes.
- The Signature Series: One level of luxury below the Mandalay Series, the Signature
Series are solidly built boats with all of the customizable features you could want, including optional
RPT tubes.
- The Signature Sport Series: The newest line of Sylvan pontoon boats, the Signature
Sport Series has all of the same features as the Signature Series, but with a more aerodynamic, sleek
designed specially crafted to make the boats travel smoothly and quickly.
- The Mirage Cruise Series: Both of Sylvan’s Mirage Series of boats are designed for
people who want industry-leading quality while also needing something affordable. The models in the
Mirage Cruise Series range in capacity from 2000 to 2400 lbs., which can seat between about 8 and 14
people.
- The Mirage Fish Series: The Mirage Fish Series of boats are similar to the Mirage
Cruise Series, except that they also come with everything you need for your fishing outing. Depending on
which model you’re looking at, some have two fishing seats in the front, some have them in the back, and
the 8520 4-Point actually has two in front and two and back. These models also come with bonus storage to
ensure you have room to store all of your equipment and your catches.
Whichever Sylvan pontoon you choose, you’ll be able to customize with a variety of
features. Meanwhile, all come with adjustable swiveling helm chairs, vinyl upholstery on the lounge seating,
skid protection around the tubes, and sound systems that can accommodate a radio, a CD player, and even an
iPod.
And if you choose to go with one of the higher-end models with RPT tubing, you’ll be
able to experience the most modern pontoon boating technology. The tubes are given a unique V-shape that
helps displace less water, which creates a smoother boating experience and less drag, leading to higher
speeds for your horsepower, better fuel efficiency, and easier maneuverability. Rather than plowing through
the water as other types of tubing does, RPT tubing glides across the surface, reaching speeds of up to 40
MPH. Not that you’ll ever need to go that fast for your luxury cruising, but it’s nice to know that you can
if you want.
